How much is a round-trip ticket to India?
The figures on this page are round-trip economy fares for one adult, taxes included, found about six weeks before departure. A round trip is the normal way to buy USA to India travel: two one-way tickets on international routes almost always cost more than one round trip, and the published one-way fare is often close to the round-trip price.
How much is a one-way ticket to India?
Usually 60 to 80 percent of the round-trip fare on the same airline, and sometimes more than the round trip itself. One-way fares make sense for a move, a student starting a semester, or a parent whose return date is open; for a holiday, a round trip with a changeable return is normally cheaper. Ask for both prices before deciding.
What is the cheapest month to fly to India?
February to April and September to October are usually the cheapest months to fly from the USA to India, when demand is lowest. Fares peak around Diwali, the December holidays and the May to July summer break. Our guide to the best time to book international flights from the USA covers the booking windows by region.
How much is a business class ticket to India?
Business class to India from the USA usually costs three to five times the economy fare on the same dates, and consolidator fares matter most in this cabin: airlines sell business class through accredited agencies at prices that are often well below the published fare. Our business class page shows live fares by state.
Why are flights to India so expensive right now?
Three things push USA to India fares up at once: limited nonstop capacity (only New York and San Francisco have nonstops, and several Air India routes were suspended in 2026), the festival and holiday peaks that fill those seats months ahead, and 2026's higher jet fuel costs, which airlines pass on to long-haul fares first. One-stop routings through the Gulf and Europe add seats and usually undercut the nonstops on the same dates.
